An Honest Review of La Forêt Brunch

December 1, 2023 by VancouverStudentEats

When looking for a cute café to study, you might stumble across a place called La Forêt. This establishment is pretty well known in Burnaby due to the aesthetic green walls crawling with plants and wooden tables. In addition, the lighting at this café is impeccable due to the large transparent garage door and warm lights surrounding the interior. They recently just opened their new Royal Oak location but the Jubilee location has been a staple for residents for the past 4 to 5 years. Many influencers go to La Forêt to take Instagram photos inside the aesthetic café and share the different menu items.

They are primarily known for their coffee and tea for students who go and study, but also have a variety of food items on their menu. Up until 3 pm, they have an additional brunch menu. This consists of breakfast sandwiches, or various different brunch platters. Each brunch platter comes with crispy or roasted potatoes, egg (unless the vegan plate), toast, salad, and a choice of protein. What makes this place special is the different flavours they incorporate in the protein. You won’t be able to find a brunch restaurant with Korean flavours such as a Bulgogi platter. Not only do they have various platters, but they also sell waffles all day long.

When my girlfriend and I visited this café, we ordered a Bulgogi platter, Sausage Platter, and a Matcha Latte. We went with a couple of our friends and they also ordered the Sausage Platter. Everything was super tasty and the portions were quite generous considering the price. The Matcha Latte was super smooth and not grainy at all which complimented the meal.

In all, this was a great experience and I would recommend others to try if they are in the area.
